emo-repertpoire I've been looking to get my hands on the musicbook from "The Piano" for years. I couldn't believe how elusive it was to find. "The Piano" has only one of those award-winning soundtracks heavy in piano (thus the title--"The Piano") that you would think to find in any music store. But noooo, I couldn't even find it in any sheetmusic catalogue. And now, after years of hunting and pining, I finally have "The Original Compositions for solo piano by Michael Nyman, from the award-winning film by Jane Campion 'The Piano'" in my eager possession. I got it off from sheetmusicplus.com and it arrived in a sad wrinkled state, but that didn't bother so much as when I sat down to play, the piano was horribly out of tune! So I went to Jemima's, thinking of her keyboard. But she has no amps and the bloody headphones are broken, so I'm sitting there, in a footstool so low I hardly can see over my fingers, with the half-of-a-headphone digging into my head-- content to lose myself in a cascade of gorgeous scales and the wildlands of learning new music. Splendid. Beautiful splendind music that amplify the raw emotional state of me. Music to commit to my emo-repertoire. 12.18.02 - 11:45 p.m.
